teeTIME
2003-2006
The impetus for this juried event in 2003, was to provide students majoring in apparel design with an opportunity, outside the classroom setting, to engage in an activity that would challenge their design thinking skills and creative minds.
Plain white t-shirts were provided to each of the participants who had four weeks to transform a basic white t-shirt into a work of art - the art of fashion!

Prior to the start, a student was selected to serve as the event director. The duties of this position included selecting a venue, managing a team of fashion retailing students who assisted with the display, merchandising, pricing & selling of the items, event ticket sales, and arranging the musical entertainment.
Student members of the Hotel And Restaurant And Convention Association (HARACA) worked with the director to select a menu and prepared/served the hors d'oeuvres & beverages.
The first year the event was held in Doster Cafe, followed by an empty storefront located at The Galleria of Tuscaloosa, Matt Jones Art Gallery, and an empty retail space in downtown Tuscaloosa.
