Creating a meaningful learning experience requires creativity, commitment, and courage.
This presentation focuses on the "Carrie Project," a unique accelerated learning experience that lasted 20 days during the first part of the fall 2013 semester. Students were asked the simple question, "What if, Carrie Bradshaw, the main character from Sex and the City, was an undergraduate student at The University of Alabama?"

Students were required to actively engage in the learning process using higher-order thinking skills as well as to talk, write, relate, and apply their knowledge in a very fast-passed creative situation. Working as a team, the students developed a storyline, recruited local retailers, and scouted locations for photo shoots.

The project culminated in the creation of a professional catalog featuring the storyline and photos as well as large format posters.
